Kingsport, TN ? Alma "Nell" Dean, 66, entered into rest Saturday, November 1, 2008 at her residence.
She was born in Scott County, VA June 26, 1942 to the late Orbin H. Bush and Mary "Gertrude" Bush.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Prescott, Maxine Blair and Phyllis Colley; three brothers, George, Grover and John Bush.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Virgie and Charles Davis, Church Hill, TN and Karen Stapleton, Church Hill, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney and Billy Jo Dean, Nickelsville, VA, David and Joan Dean, Nickelsville, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Iona and Willie Robinette, Nickelsville, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Wilma Bush, Fairview, VA; four grandchildren, Christy Harr, Chris Vicars, Alex and Jordan Dean; one great grandson, Cayden Harr; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her grandson, Chris Vicars, Nickelsville, VA. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Jarrett and Rev. G.W. White officiating. Music will be provided by True Love Harmony.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Holston View Cemetery. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Doyle Dean, Rick Harr, Jim Castle, Ronnie Dean, Roger Sluss, Wade Johnson and Jeff Lucas will serve as pallbearers.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
