Carmel Jean Davis – Kingsport, TN
Carmel Jean Davis, 71, Kingsport, TN passed from this earthly home to her Heavenly home to join her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2:55 a.m. at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Dickenson County, VA on November 18, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Otto Ramey and the Evie (Dotson) Ramey.
Carmel retired from Eastman Chemical Company, Coal Gas Division in 1999 after 32 years of dedicated service.
She was an avid fan of Dobyns-Bennett High School Football, where she was a member of the Quarterback Club, having served as President. She was also a fan of Tennessee Volunteer Football.
Carmel thoroughly enjoyed selling NASCAR race programs at Bristol Motor Speedway for both the spring and fall races.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Richard Davis, Kingsport, TN; son, Brandon Davis and soulmate, Jessica Jackson, Kingsport, TN; granddaughter, Olivia Davis; sisters, Lee Moore, Bluff City, TN, Larnie Elkins and husband, Clyde, Clintwood, VA, and Charlotte “Charlie” Hilton and husband, Larry “Junior”, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Paul “Junior” Ramey and wife, Brenda, Clintwood, VA, Coy Ramey and wife, Pam, and Troy Ramey and wife, Angela, Wise, VA; sister-in-law, Paula Brickey, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Gate City Funeral Home in the Juanita S. Falin Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March, March 17, 2018 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Randy Powers officiating. Neal and Teresa McMurray will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Brandon Davis, Coy Ramey, Troy Ramey, Clyde Elkins, Larry “Junior” Hilton, and Paul “Junior” Ramey will serve as pallbearers. Her nephews and Denny Haynes will serve as honorary pallbearers.
