Alpha Aredith Dingus Davis – Chesapeake, VA
Mrs. Alpha Aredith Dingus Davis, 84, Chesapeake, VA passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born in Buffalo, SC on October 11, 1927 to the late Hasten and Victoria Neal Gilliam.
In addition to her parents, her first husband, Charles "Red" Dingus, second husband, George Davis; baby daughter, Carolyn Joyce Dingus; and brothers, Paul Gilliam and Ely Gilliam preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Charles (C.H.) Dingus, Chesapeake, VA; daughter-in-law, Sharon Dingus, Nottingham, MD; grandchildren, Johnica Dingus and Catherine Englebach and husband, Billy, Nottingham, MD; great grandchildren, Tyler Englebach and Ethan Englebach, Nottingham, MD; sisters, Myrtle C. Vaughn, Duffield, VA, Micca Alberta Vaughn and husband, Henry, Yuma, VA, Dorothy Ann Williamson and husband, Bill, Richmond, VA and Margaret Williamson; brother, Ehcol Gilliam and wife, Judy, Duffield, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her sister, Myrtle C. Vaughn, Duffield, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Brother Dewayne Williams and Brother Larry McAmis officiating. The Pentecostal Power House Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Adams Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
