Dungannon, VA – Helen Frances Davidson, 82, entered into rest Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Wexford House.
She was born in Scott County, VA September 15, 1926 to the late Albert Sargent and Gladys Wolfe Sargent. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Clarice Sargent and one brother, Jimmy Sargent.
She was a Christian and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Rita and husband, Rev. Steve McNew, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sons, John Doug and wife, Frances Davidson, Dungannon, VA, Ronald Davidson and friend, Betty Eidson, Kingsport, TN, David Lee and wife, Gayle Davidson, Dungannon, VA; grandchildren, Tracie Hillman, Diana Frazier, Westley Davidson, Wendell Davidson; great grandchildren, Tucker and Riley Hillman; great great granddaughter, Abigail Frazier; sister, Eloise and husband Bob Mortimer, Leguesta, FL; niece, Patricia Cole; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of her daughter, Rita McNew. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve McNew and Rev. Ed Blair officiating. Music will be provided by Pine Grove Harmony.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
