David Allen Darnell, 83, Gate City, VA, passed away, Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center.

David was born in Dungannon, VA, on April 20, 1941, to the late E.C. Darnell, and Dena (Brickey) Darnell.

In addition to his parents, several brothers precede him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Edith Darnell; sister-in-law, Lou Finch (Ray); brothers-in-law, Fred Burton, Bobby Burton (Ann), Lee Burton, John Burton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11-1p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the Juanita S. Falin Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Grassy Creek Cemetery, Castlewood, VA, with Steve Collins officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
