Jim Daugherty – Weber City, VA
James “Jim” O. Daugherty, 66, Weber City, VA passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Asbury Place (Baysmont), Kingsport, TN.
Jim was born in Sullivan County, TN on May 2, 1953, and was the son of the late Darwin and Ina (Renfro) Daugherty.
He was a graduate of Gate City High School and Mountain Empire Community College.
Jim was Vice President of Daugherty Brothers Chevrolet in Gate City, VA.
He loved driving to Gatlinburg and Asheville and knew all the back roads. He enjoyed target shooting and occasionally hunting.
Jim always liked talking to his friends and especially loved playing pranks on them, as they did him.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weber City, VA.
Surviving is his brother, Wayne and sister-in-law, Peggy; cousins, Cathy Turner and family, Valda Lady and family, Frances Lipe and family, and numerous friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Rev. Lester Morelock officiating.
Former employees of Daugherty Brothers Chevrolet will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Holston View at 12:45 p.m., Wednesday for the graveside service.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Baysmont, especially Peggy and Whitney for their love and care of Jim.
