He was born in Scott County, VA November 16, 1932 to the late Garland and Laura Hunley Darnell.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Darnell; two brothers, Willis and J.D. Darnell.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise Darnell, Gate City, VA; ex-wife and mother of his children, Jewell Perry, Gate City, VA; two sons, Bobby Darnell, Sr. and wife, June, Gate City, VA and Allen Darnell, Gate City, VA; two sisters, Amley and Roger Reed, Marshall, VA, Zady and Kenny Reed, Warrenton, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sid and Shirley Darnell, Kingsport, TN, James and Myrland Darnell, Kingsport, TN, Kyle and Evelyn Darnell, Marshall, VA, Otis Darnell, Marshall, VA, Bascom and Wilma Darnell, Warrenton, VA; grandchildren, Christopher Darnell and fianc?e, Doris Begley, Bobby Darnell, Jr. and fianc?e, Kim Lane, Travis, Matthew, Michael Darnell; great grandchildren, Brittany and Trevor Darnell and Nevaeh Lane; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at Slant Methodist Church, in the Slant Community with Rev. Gary Hunley officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
