Jimmy Darnell, 67, Kingsport, TN passed away, Friday, February 8, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Darnell was born in Scott County, VA on December 21, 1945 to the late Everett and Margaret Ruth Carter Darnell.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Donnie Darnell and great nephew, Daxton Dove preceded him in death.
He is survived by his fiancée, Freda Hilton, Kingsport, TN; special great grandson, Levi Newman, Johnson City, TN; sisters, Carolyn Henry and husband, Jessie, Kingsport, TN, Mattie Gibson, Kingsport, TN, and Kathy Bowman, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Billie Darnell, Kingsport, TN, Gary Kindle, Kingsport, TN, and Ray Kindle, Kingsport, TN; sister-in-law, Grace Darnell, Kingsport, TN; along with several aunts, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Mike Owens, Pastor Paul Maness, and Pastor Denny Hass officiating. Lights of Christ and Hass Family Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Fields Family Cemetery, Stanleytown Community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Charity Chapel.
