Robert " Bobby" Greggory Darnell, 47, Manville community of Gate City, VA moved to his Heavenly Home, Saturday, May 22, 2010.
Robert was born in Texas on August 16, 1962, son of Edith K. Lane and the late Robert Glen Darnell. He was a member of Tipton's Chapel Independent Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, his brother, Ronnie Darnell preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Edith Kate Darnell, Gate City, VA; wife, Robin Darnell, Gate City, VA; step-daughter, Kimberly N. Franklin and husband, Jamie L., Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Abigail Estepp and Zackery Franklin; brother and sister-in-law, Roger Darnell and wife, Jeannie, Bluff City, TN; special nieces, Vanessa Darnell, Heather Borello, and Katrina Gordon; along with a host of loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his mother and mother-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Roberts and the Rev. Adam Roberts officiating. The Tipton Family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Tipton's Chapel Church Cemetery on Copper Ridge in the Manville community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
