Margaret (Jackie) Culbertson – Nickelsville, VA
Margaret (Jackie) Haga Culbertson, on July 8, 2011, after a two year battle with ovarian cancer, left her loving family and friends to be in heaven with her personal savior, Jesus Christ and her Father God.
Mrs. Culbertson was born in Sullivan County, TN. on June 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Elmer and Bonnie Haga.
She leaves behind, to mourn their loss, but rejoice in her victory, her family as follows: Her husband of 58 years, William Glen Culbertson, son, Kevin Neal Culbertson, daughter, Mrs. Billy Joe (Wanda Gail) Dean, Mrs. Fred (Alicia Susan) Meade, all of Nickelsville, VA. and Mrs. Julius (Janet Marie) Williams of Kingsport, TN. She had great delight in her 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Left, also, are her sisters Mary Broadwater of Nickelsville, VA., Mozella Lucas of Dungannon, VA., Martha (Hodo) Miller of Waco, TX. And Edna (Dolly) Million of Jacksonville, FL., brother, Frank Haga of Jacksonville, Fl., very dear sister's-in-law, Odine Fleenor of Rocky Mount, VA., Mary Anderson of Kingsport, TN. and brother-in-law, Dallas Culbertson and wife Helen of King George, VA. Also surviving are many dear nieces and nephews, close friends Ruth Hillman and Barbara Trent, and a very close and loving church family at First Assembly of God in Gate City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Argoe, Rev. Steve Collins and Pastor Jerry Musick officiating. Barbara Trent , Tim Spicer and Assembly of God singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2011 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m., Monday.
The family extends special thanks to all the nurses of Wellmont Hospice who came to the home to help care for their loved one and to Dr. Paul Kramer of Hope Women's Cancer Center in Kingsport and Kingsport Hematology and Oncology for their compassion, dedication and care. They also extend their appreciation to Dr. Greg Demotts for his many years of care and service.
