Jewel Cowden – Kingsport, TN
Jewel Frances (Watts) Cowden, 76, Kingsport, TN passed away, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Jewel was born in Scott County, VA on February 10, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Ishmael and Hazel (Falin) Watts.
In addition to her parents, her first husband, Elmer Ray Falin, 2nd husband, George T. Marsh, and 3rd husband, Glenn “John” Alexander Cowden, brothers, Dewey, Billy Jo, Ellard, and Bobby Watts; daughter, Debbie Kimberlin; and grandson, Glen Marsh preceded her in death.
Her survivors include her children, Jeannie Larkins, Denny Falin and wife, Barbara, Ricky Falin and wife, Tonya, and Tammy Gilliam and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Jamie Stanley, Gwynn Marsh, Justin Falin, Josh Falin, Allen Marsh and wife, Cindy, Vanessa Falin, Angel Falin, Nathan Gilliam and wife, Krystal; great grandchildren, Alexis Stanley, Courtney Stanley, Nevaeh Marsh, Gabriel Marsh, and Allyna Marsh, Adalynn Gilliam, Kaylee Bowen, Ariana Gilliam, and Jayden Bowen; sister, Jean Bishop, her special friends, Audrey and Wayne Nelms, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joe Hill officiating. Bill and Sharon Owens, and Sherry Morelock will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Falin Family Cemetery, Falin Hollow in Scott County, VA. Carl Frazier, Todd Gilliam, Nathan Gilliam, Allen Marsh, Gwynn Marsh, and Justin Falin will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
