Connie Ann Dockery- Fort Blackmore, VA

Connie Ann Dockery, 68, Fort Blackmore, VA, passed away, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the home of her niece and caregiver, Carolyn Gibson. 

Connie was born on October 10, 1955, in Kingsport, TN, to the late Brownie Logan Dockery, and Mattie (Hensley) Dockery. 

She was a lifetime member of Scott County Life Saving Crew and a member of Alley Valley Baptist Church, later attending Clinchport Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, her son, Dustin Carrico; sisters, Valice Perry (Bill), Colleen Dockery Kincaid (Dock), Verdie Dockery Lawson (Henry); brothers, Emitt Dockery, Donnie Dockery (Peggy), James Dockery (Maxie); and brother-in-law, George Gibson, Jr., preceded her in death. 

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Eunice “Kate” Gibson, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, B.L. Dockery, Jr., Gate City, VA, Roger Dockery, Gate City, VA, Howard Dockery, Gate City, VA, Ronald Dockery, Gate City, VA, Larry Dockery (Margaret), Nickelsville, VA; special great nephew, Brayden Dockery; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson, Rev. Michael Gibson, and Rev. Robbie Dockery officiating. Mike and Dottie Lane, Jim Gibson, and Bill Tignor will provide the music. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Gibson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Scott County Life Saving Crew will honor Connie as pallbearers. Brayden Dockery will serve as an Honorary pallbearer. 

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers for their love and support of Connie.
