Mrs. Edna Earl Guy Compton, 69, Dungannon, VA passed away, Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, MI, the result of a brief illness.
Mrs. Compton was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on December 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Sherman and Lizzie Dell Moore Guy.
She was fun loving with a zest for life, and an avid bingo player.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Beulah Doran; and brothers, Corbett, Frank, Howard, and Paul Guy preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Glen David Compton, Jr., Tecumseh, MI and Carl Compton, Weber City, VA, grandchildren, Wade, Terry, and Cole Compton; great grandson, Riley Compton; brother-in-law, Johnny Doran, Sumpter, SC; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Taylor officiating.
Burial will be at the Compton Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA pending weather. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
