Robert “Eddie” Collins – Dungannon, VA
Robert “Eddie” Collins, 52, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home.
He was born on July 18, 1968 in Lebanon, VA; the youngest of three to the late Vincent and Wilma Jean Collins.
Eddie was a friend to many. He was someone who would show up when no one else would, always willing to help anyone however he could. He enjoyed working on cars and, spending time with his sister, her girls, and their families. He was the life of the party, always cutting up and carrying on. Making people laugh came easily to Eddie. He loved people, but he loved his “girls” and “bub” most of all.
Eddie is survived by his best friend and sister, Barbara Collins, Dungannon, VA; his brother, Stephen Collins, Portsmouth, VA; two nieces, who he treated his like his daughters, Jeanna “Hope” Lawson and husband, Coty, Castlewood, VA, Stephanie “Tater” Perry and husband Michael, Dungannon VA; nephew, Shane Collins, Portsmouth, VA; great nieces, Rhyleigh and Katie Lawson, Castlewood, VA; great nephew, Parker “Bub” Perry, Dungannon, VA; fiancée, Reba Brummit; a very special uncle, Donnie Collins; along with several cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00, Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Todd Cassel officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Point Truth Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Bobby Collins, Justin Collins, Irvin Ausman, Michael Perry, Brian McNeil and Michael Collins will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Collins will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Family and Friends are asked to meet at cemetery for the graveside service.
