Brenda Lee Cleek, 44, Kingsport, TN passed away, Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her residence.

Brenda grew up in Gate City, VA. After graduating from Gate City High School she joined the United States Navy where she was an air traffic controller, living in Memphis, TN, Jacksonville, FL, and Ridgecrest, CA. After returning home from the service, she worked as a delivery driver for Federal Express before becoming disabled in 1997.

Brenda had an infectious smile that will never be forgotten. She loved helping other. She especially loved children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Cleek and special Uncle "Buggs".

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Cleek, Gate City, VA; her only child, who was her pride and joy, Blake Erickson and fiancee, Whitney Elliott; sister, Jo-Rita Clayton and husband, Mike, Kingsport, TN; brother, David Cleek, Kingsport, TN; nephew, Tommy Johnson, III, Kingsport, TN; uncle, Carl Cleek, Kingsport, TN; aunt, Irma McDowell and husband, Richard, Sevierville, TN; along with several cousins and many special friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Nottingham United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Porter officiating.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at the V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN by members of American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m., Friday for the graveside service.
