Bobby Cleek, 71, Gate City, VA passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Brookhaven Manor, Kingsport, TN.
Mr. Cleek was born in Scott County, VA on March 12, 1941 to the late John Kelly and Ollie Mae Catron Cleek.
In addition to his parents, his six brothers, twins Harold and Harry and Ernest, Charlie, Don, and Carl; and one sister, Clara Hammonds preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ruth Cleek, Gate City, VA; daughters, Lisa Lingerfelt and husband, Robert and Gaye Nell Pruett and husband, Todd, all of Kingsport, TN; sons, Richard Cleek and wife, Karen, David Cleek, and Kendall Cleek, all of Gate City, VA; special granddaughter, Mary Ann Cleek; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his loving mom-in-law, Vivian Folden; sisters, Shirley Bledsoe, Kingsport, TN and June Chard and husband, Gilbert, Kingsport, TN; several nieces and nephews; along with his very special church family at Bethel Apostolic Church.
The family will receive friends from 11-12 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Garland Tipton, Rev. Buford Blankenbeckler, and Rev. Perry Cleek officiating. Church Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Cleek Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home in Bobby's name to help alleviate the funeral costs.
They also wish to convey their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Brookhaven Manor for the compassion they have shown to them during this difficult time.
