Claude Allen Fields – Gate City, VA

Claude Allen Fields ,95 Gate City, VA passed away, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Nova Health and Rehab.

Claude was born in Scott County, VA on October 20, 1927, to the late Walter Edwin and Lona Cleo (Strong) Fields.

In addition to his parents, his sisters, Willie Ruth Gillenwater, Fay Fields, Mary Katherine Ball, Shirley Ann Monroe, Dorothy Marie Lawson, and Maxie Lorraine Hammonds; brother, Arthur Eugene Fields preceded him in death.

He is survived by brother, Paul Edwin Fields, Gate City, VA, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Mike Elam officiating. David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1: 00 p.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the graveside service.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nova Health and Rehab, Lena, Gerri, Bri, Haley, Haylee, Kari and Jessica for their care of Pappy and all the caregivers, along with Rhonda, Tommy, Linda and Kitty.
