Oscar H. Christian, 77, Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, June 2, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Christian was born in Scott County, VA on November 8, 1936, son of the late William Andrew and Martha Jane Burnett Christian.
He was a landscaper with C&C Landscaping.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Rose Marie Gray Christian; son, Richard Franklin Christian; sister, Marie Diane Christian; and brothers, Clarence, Frank, James, and Eugene Christian preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Doris Arlene Wedding and husband, Joseph, Gate City, VA; sons, Oscar H. Christian, Jr. and wife, Orlean, Bowling Green, VA, Herman Lee Christian, Sr., Fredrick, MD, Charles William Christian, Damascus, MD, and Lucian Blair Christian and wife, Tanya, Fredrick, MD; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; brother, Hermon C. Christian, Bowling Green, VA; sisters, Ethel Bernice Vaughn and husband, Leonard, Yuma, VA, Inez Swecker, Fredrick, MD, Geneva Foster and husband, Monk, Ladysmith, VA, and Geraldine Christian, Bowling Green, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private visitation Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. A private service will be conducted in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wayne McCarty officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 7, 2014. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
