Ben McKinley Christian, 78, Weber City, VA passed away, Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.
Mr. Christian was born in Scott County, VA on August 26, 1931, the son of the late William and Callie Poston Christian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by Mary Christian, the mother of his children of Gate City, VA; daughter, Kathy Christian, Surgoinsville, TN; sons, Darrell Christian, Gate City, VA, Ronald Christian and wife, Karen, Gate City, VA, Ben Harvey Christian and wife, Angel, Panama City, FL; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Clalie Grogan, Washington, DC; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Mary Christian. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dewayne Williams officiating. The Pentecostal Powerhouse Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
