Charles David Egan, 68, Ft. Blackmore, VA, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at his residence.

Charles was born in Ft. Blackmore, VA, on February 26, 1956, to the late Charles Marion Egan, and Sarah Jane (Darnell) Egan.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Ruby Egan Shelton preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend of 30 years, Virginia Egan; daughter, Amanda Reed (Edgar “Neal” Reed); sisters, Patsy Mae Necessary, Carrie Head, Debbie Gillenwater (Don); brothers, James Egan (Shirley), Roy Egan, Billy Egan (Betty), and Bobby Egan; grandchildren, Olivia Reed and Bella Reed; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rick Quillen officiating. David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Pierson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.
