Jean Chapman – Duffield, VA
Jean Chapman, 76, Duffield, VA passed away, Friday, May 20, 2016 at her residence.
Jean was born in Buncombe County, NC and was the daughter of the late Georgia Jean Evans.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Wistrand.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Trevor Ray Chapman, Duffield, VA; daughter, Tammy Millican, Duffield, VA; son, Ray Chapman and wife, Katie, Blackwater, VA; grandchildren, Christian Millican, Skyler Millican, Eryka Millican, and Katelyn Chapman; sister, Gwen Fisher, Tucson, AZ; brother, Garland Fisher, Flint, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Marshall Tipton and Rev. Terry Rhoton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Hill Carter Cemetery, Mabe Stanleytown Road, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
