Ethel C. Chapman, 94, Duffield, VA passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA after a long battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Chapman was born in Scott County, VA on January 29, 1918 to the late Jim and Ollie Kerns Collett.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Claude "Nick" Chapman and 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Clarence Collett and wife, Ruth, Fairview, VA; her loving nieces, Ada Maness and husband, Billy, Fairview, VA, Sherry Nelms and husband, John, Kingsport, TN, Roger Collett and wife, Kathy, Kingsport, TN, and Ava Jo Hartley, Ft. Blackmore, VA; along with several other nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Billy and Ada Maness. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. The Fairview Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Maness Family Cemetery, Fairview, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at11:00 a.m, Saturday, January 12, 2013.
