Agnes Pauline Chapman, 86, passed away peacefully at Wexford House September 27, 2009.
She had previously resided in Winston Salem, NC prior to moving to Wexford House. She was loved by all and always had a sweet smile for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Landreth. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Samuel W. Chapman and son, Roger Chapman.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Chapman and wife, Susan, Morehead City, NC; daughter, Shirley Romero and husband, Gene, Kingsport, TN, Betty Russell and husband, Ralph, Kingsport, TN, Linda Johnson, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Byron Chapman, Brande Chapman, Tim Allen, Tammy Silcox, Teresa Coode, Gina Grills, Amy Davis, David Chapman, Shawn Chapman, Ashley Chapman, Crystal Sweeney, Whitney and Seth Shaw; eight great grandchildren, Kyrsten Idol, Jensen Chapman, Karson Chapman, Mallory Chapman, Hunter Chapman, Dylan Davis, Jensen Anna Marie Davis, Chelsea Ketron and Veronica Addington.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Mike Stout officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gene Romero, Tony Chapman, Byron Chapman, Brande Chapman, Ralph Russell and Tim Allen.
A special thanks to staff and workers (Jennifer, Sara, Pam, Tim, Margaret and many others) at Wexford House who helped care for mom.
