Catherine Sampson Daugherty – Nickelsville, VA

Catherine Sampson Daugherty, 74, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at Buchanan General Hospital.

Catherine was born on March 11, 1949, in Kingsport, TN, to the late William Kinzer Sampson and Mable Lucille (Barker) Sampson.

Along with her parents, her brother, Samuel William Sampson preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Heather Daugherty, Nickelsville, VA; son, Wendell Daugherty, II, Nickelsville, VA; brother, Michael Sampson (Robin), Big Stone Gap, VA; niece, Rebecca Thomas (Joshua); nephew, Adam Sampson (Emily); great-nieces, Abygayle, Gracie, Lily; and a great-nephew, Will.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with her brother, Rev. Michael Sampson officiating. Marcus Smith will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Chris Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, Isaiah Daugherty, Hayden Daugherty, and Andy Osborne will serve as pallbearers.
