Arthur Castle

Arthur Castle, 90, entered into rest Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his residence.
He was born in Scott County, VA to the late Samuel R. and Nancy Virginia Kilgore Castle.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois Castle, December 5, 2008; five brothers, Lloyd G., Clint, Earl, Worley and Robert "Oat" Castle; and one sister, Effie Castle.
Mr. Castle attended Willow Chapel Church, West Carters Valley. He lived and farmed several years in the Little Duck Community of Nickelsville. He always enjoyed returning to walk the hills and fields of this community to rabbit and squirrel hunt and reminisce of his early years. He then moved his family to East Carters Valley of Kingsport and then retired from Air Products in Kingsport, TN.
Surviving is one daughter, Peggy Brickey and fianc?, Ed Baker, Church Hill, TN; son, James "Jim" Castle and wife, Lanie, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Pamela Coates and husband, Steve, Church Hill, TN and Steven Brickey and wife, Tina, Church Hill, TN; great grandchildren, Brandon and Bethany Sorah, Church Hill, TN and Danielle Brickey, Church Hill, TN; brother-in-law, J. B. Stapleton and wife, Polly, Nickelsville, VA; along with several other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home or anytime at his daughters, 184 Chickasaw Circle, Church Hill, TN. Services will be at 5 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Elder Carl Smith and Elder Allen Hensley officiating. Music will be provided by the Smith Family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 2 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Dave Cassell, Gerald Cassell, Michael Stapleton, Johnney Culbertson, Don Castle and Jeff McCamis.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Hagan Castle, Dick Castle, Junior Castle and Floyd Johnson.
Gate City Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Castle family.
