Mildred Louella Casteel, 72, Gate City, VA passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mildred was born in Scott County, VA on March 12, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Cossie Wiley and Gracie Bridgette Howington Casteel.
In addition to her parents, her son, Michael Gillenwater; sister, Nina Rhoton; and brother, Mack Casteel preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie J. Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN, Connie Lumley and husband, Matt, Gate City, VA, and Karen Camper, Gate City, VA; sons, Tim Casteel and wife, Shirley, Gate City, VA and Terry Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN; her longtime companion, Johnny Snodgrass, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Gabriel Parks and wife, April, Leslie Parks, Amber Gillenwater, Matthew Gillenwater, Amanda Bartley, Lacy Gillenwater, Jason Gillenwater, and Daniel Head; several great grandchildren; sisters, Della Fay Lane, Gate City, VA, Gertrude Smith, Johnson City, TN, Alice Fern Shelton and husband, Dan, Weber City, VA, and Mary Haynes, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Truman Casteel, Kingsport,TN; special niece, Kay Blanton and husband, Robert, Gate City, VA and special nephew, Mike Lane, Midway, VA; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service at 12:45 p.m.
