Wendy was born in Sullivan County, TN on May 16, 1976 to the late Elizabeth Jennings Poole and Ronnie Poole.
She attended Midway Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Carter, Gate City, VA; father ,Ronnie Poole , Gate City, VA; step-mother, Phyllis Hensley Poole, Gate City, VA; daughters, Briana and Lakyn Ison, Gate City, VA; step daughter, Holly Carter, Gate City, VA, step son, Anthony Carter, Gate City, VA sister, Donna Poole Clemons, Gate City, VA; brothers, Jeff Poole and wife, Renae, Gate City, VA, Michael Poole and wife, Robin, Gate City, VA; mother-in-law - Alice Carter, Ft Blackmore, VA; special niece, Tabitha Elliott, Gate City, VA,; along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Sunday, April 3, 2016 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00p.m. with Rev. Gene Stallard, Rev. Gary Adkins and Brother Wayne Stallard officiating. Strings of Hope will provide the music.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 04, 2016 in the Holston View Cemetery, VA. Chris Holder will provide the music. Blake Poole, J.T. Starnes, Matt Ison, Greg Sloan, Mike Thompson and Norman Sloan will serve as pallbearers.
Friends and family are asked to meet at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
