Roger Carter, 44, Gate City, VA passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Carter was born in Sullivan County, TN on August 28, 1966, the son of Jimmy and Patsy Carter.
He loved hunting, fishing, and working in his flowers.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Chrisanna Brooke Carter; sister, Brenda Jean Dougherty; and brother, Ronnie Carter.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Patsy Carter, Gate City, VA; brothers, Ricky Carter, Gate City, VA and Roy Carter, Gate City, VA; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating. The L.D. Hill Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
