Perry “Roger” Carter
Perry “Roger” Carter, 59, went home to be with his heavenly father and loved one June28, 2016 after suffering a heart attack.
Roger was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee, May 27, 1957. And was the son of Jack Carter and the late Patsy Ervin Carter. He was a resident of Scott County, VA.
Roger is preceded in death by his precious son Brad in 2008; his loving mother, Patsy Ervin Carter in 2010; grandparents, Lorn Ervin and Mae Musick Ervin, George Carter and Myrtle Fletcher Carter; three uncles and one aunt.
Left to cherish Roger’s memory are his precious father, Jack Carter, Gate City, VA; his loving sister, Diana Campbell and fiance, Bill Delfosse, Gate City, VA; special niece, Jackie (Charlie) Collins, Gate City, VA; two special nephews, Kaleb and Tayler Saez, Gate City, VA; special aunt, Reba Robinson, several aunts, an uncle, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Roger was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Discount Septic Tank Service for many years.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson and Rev. Michael Gibson officiating.
Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Ervin Family Cemetery in the Manville Community of Scott County, VA. Jeff Ervin, Bill Stone, Michael Ervin, Todd Ervin, Johnny Campbell and Charlie Collins will serve as pallbearers. Steve Ervin, Rick Neeley, Darrell Edwards and Doug Edwards will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
