Joella Mae Carter, 71, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Carter was born in Scott County, VA on May 15, 1941 to the late William Caner and Sad Frazier.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Will Carter; son, Michael "Bud" Carter; granddaughter, Katie Jo Carter; and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Edna Winters, Gate City, VA; sons, Ricky Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA, William Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Jimmy Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA; several grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren; brother, Lawton Frazier, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Ruth Frazier, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Emily Mantis, Surgoinsville, TN and Alice Darnell, Ft. Blackmore, VA.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Cox Chapel Church Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA with Rev. Denny Hass officiating. The Hass Family Singers will provide the music. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
