Billy Ted Carter, 65, Gate City, VA passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Carter was born in Scott County, VA on February 1, 1949 to the late Roy and Hazel M. Carter.
In addition to his parents, his niece, Reba Darnell preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Carter, Gate City, VA; daughter, Donna Giles and husband, Chad, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Bradley and Abigail Williams, Gate City, VA; sisters, Bessie Darnell and Ralph, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Jennifer Taylor and husband, Jerry, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Maude Gaynell Darnell and husband, Donny, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, Jimmy “Bud” Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Robert “Bobby” Carter, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers-in-law, Charles “Buck” Darnell and wife, Faye, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Jay Darnell and wife, Earnie, Gate City, VA; uncle, Willie Dingus, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Hill Cemetery, Hill Station, VA with Elder Jake Pyle officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
