Mrs. Polly Catron Calhoun, 95, Duffield, VA passed away, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, VA.
Mrs. Calhoun was born in Scott County, VA on October 19, 1915, daughter of the late William Catron and Ida Kindle Catron.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Speers Ferry Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Calhoun, 1967; an infant son; and her sister, Annie Jenkins.
She is survived by a niece, Ida Mae Starnes, and several other nieces and nephews and her special caregivers, Gary and Darlene Walters, Gate City, VA.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor. Johnny Duncan officiating. Speers Ferry Church Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Men of Speers Ferry Church and special friend, Jimmy Williams will serve as pallbearers.
