Mr. Edward D. Bumbalough, 86, Duffield, VA passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Mr. Bumbalough was born in Mount Dora, FL on November 24, 1926, a son of the late Leslie and Maggie Bumbalough, Sr.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. serving during World War II.
In addition to his parents, his son, David Bumbalough; and brothers, Willie, Charlie, Estelle, Burford, and Ray Bumbalough preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Fritz Bumbalough, Duffield, VA; son Edward Bumbalough, Jr. and wife, Kendra, Gordon, OH; daughters, Peggy Phillips and husband, Tom, Columbus, IN, Debra Bumbalough, Columbus, IN; Judy Campbell, Colorado Springs, CO. Linda Murray, Dayton, OH, Patricia Milby, Arcanum, OH; brother, Les Bumbalough and wife, Joyce, Castalian, TN; step children, James Lambert and wife, Karen, Dayton, OH, Linda Sue BumBalough, OH, Lisa Russell, Duffield, VA, Teresa Tignor, Duffield, VA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday August 15, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. The Hood Family will provide the music.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Adams Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to convey a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Ridgecrest Manor for their love and care of Mr. Bumbalough.
