Maxie White Broadwater – Gate City, VA
Maxie Pauline (White) Broadwater, 94, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, April 3, 2020 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Maxie was born in Scott County, VA on May 30, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Charles Preston (C.P., Sr.) and Dora Lee (Taylor) White.
She was a member of Moore’s Memorial and was retired from J.C. Penny Company.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Joe Bond Broadwater, Sr. (1990); a son, Charles Broadwater; granddaughter, August Broadwater Caudill; sister, Hannah Kate White; brothers, Arthur and Edward Lee White; sister-in-law, Lola Dell White; and brother-in-law, Fred Long preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Meade and husband, Roy “Buck, Nickelsville, VA and Janice “Tutti” Jennings and husband, Jeff, Gate City ,VA; sons, Joe B. Broadwater and wife, Judy, Weber City, VA and Jerry P. Broadwater, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Cheryl Baker and husband, Brian; Heather Lane Kiser and husband, Ricky, Holly Lane and husband, B.J., Joey Blue Broadwater, and Jesse Broadwater; great grandchildren, Brody Nelms, Brady Porter, Meadow Caudill, Ava Baker, Brayden Kiser, Natalie Kiser; sister, Cansada Long, Nickelsville, VA; brother, C.P. White, Jr., Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020 at the Nickelsville Cemetery with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Grandsons and Great Grandsons, Joey Blue Broadwater, Jesse Broadwater, Brody Nelms, Brady Porter, and Brayden Kiser will serve as pallbearers. Tom Hilton, Jimmy McConnell, Bill McConnell, Terry Sivert, and Gary Parsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the staff of NOVA for their love and care, and to June Cartron, her friend and roommate at NOVA.
