Shirley Mae (Peters) Brickey, 84, Dungannon, VA passed away, Monday, May 3, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Scott County, VA on September 4, 1936 to the late Opal Gerome and Cotella Nell (Salyer) Peters.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Danny Sam Brickey (3-7-2021); sisters, Mary Wanda (Peters) Quillen, Alleen (Peters) Wohlford; brother, Lankford L. Peters; and nephew, Lankford Lowell Peters, Jr., preceded her in death.
Shirley is survived by her son, Daniel Sam Brickey, Jr. and wife, Angela, Dungannon, VA; grandchildren, Candace Brickey, Dungannon, VA, Samantha Brickey Jones, and husband, James, Mt. Carmel, TN; great grandchildren, Aleara Gabrielle Jones, Keegan Jace Jones; sister-in-law, Sue (Cox) Peters, Dungannon, VA; brother-in-law, Bob Brickey, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Fincastle Church Cemetery in Dungannon, VA with Pastor Larry Beavers officiating. Durham’s Chapel Quartet will provide the music.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests those attending the service please wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
