Ina Ruth Brickey – Ft. Blackmore, VA
Ina Ruth Lee Brickey, 85, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Brickey was born in Wise County, VA on December 29, 1928 to the late Guy and Nora Dingus Lee. She was caretaker for the Fort Blackmore Methodist Camp for many years.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Marie Lee Herron Ledger preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of almost seventy years, Rhea E. Brickey, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughters, Betty Brickey Johnson and husband, Robert, Piney Flats, TN, Ina Rhea Brickey Miller and husband, Johnny, Gate City, VA, Billie Jean Brickey Flanary and husband, Jimmy, Gate City, VA, Robin Brickey Osborne, Piney Flats, TN; special daughter, Margaret Poole Summey and husband, John Brown, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, John Miller, Jr., Mickey Miller and wife, Christy, Jeffery Flanary and wife, Sherry, Kristi Jeter and husband, Chris, Daniel Osborne, and Rachel Osborne; great grandchildren, Brady Miller, Sydney Miller, Andrew Jeter, Zachery Jeter, and Matthew Flanary; sister, Ann Cumbo and husband, Terry, Lewistown, OH; brothers, Raymond Lee, Johnson City, TN and Henry Kern and wife, Beulah, Mabe, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Her grandsons, John Miller, Jr., Jeff Flanary, Mickey Miller, Daniel Osborne, Matt Flanary, and John Brown Summey will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the grave side service.
