Dorothy May Brickey, 62, Nickelsville, VA passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Dorothy was born in Scott County, VA on April 8, 1950 to the late Worth and Edith Perry.
In addition to her parents, her son Kenneth Kern and brothers, Gene Perry and Donald Perry preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Larry R. Brickey, Nickelsville, VA; daughter, Lori Pendergrass, Nickelsville, VA; son, Anthony W. Brickey and wife, Tina, Nickelsville, VA; sister, Theresa Stallard and husband, Wayne, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sister-in-law, Judy Perry, Griffith, IN; brothers, Bufford Duke Carter, Nickelsville, VA, Jimmy Perry, Nickelsville, VA, Doug Perry and wife, Linda, Dungannon, VA, and Adril Perry, Portage, IN; grandchildren, Dakota Brickey, Katie Roberts, Megan Roberts, and Seth Pendergrass, special friend, Sabrina Brommer; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Dr. Gregory Demotts.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Danny Darnell officiating. Danny Darnell will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Daniel Brommer, Scotty Hall, Paul Chafin, Charles Kern, Bill Brickey, and David Roberts will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
