Duard Edward "Candy" Bray, 84, of Duffield, VA passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence in Duffield, VA with his family by his side.
Mr. Bray was born in Scott County, VA on June 21, 1927, the son of the late Ballard and Stella Bryant Bray. He was retired from the Kingsport Foundry.
He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Bray, one sister, two brothers, and his step-mother, Virginia Bledsoe Bray in addition to his parents.
Mr. Bray is survived by his wife, Amy Jean Bray, Duffield, VA; daughter, Karen Lane and husband, R.C., Duffield, VA; sons, Thomas Bray, Richard Bray, and Michael Bray, all of Duffield, VA; grandchildren, Kristy Dockery and husband, Keith, Duffield, VA, and Christopher and Joshua Lane, both of Duffield, VA; great grandchildren, Austin , Dakota, Isabella Dockery; sister, Mary Jane Phillips and husband, Charles, Bristol, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Hensley Cemetery, Speers Ferry. Richard Bray, Michael Bray, Christopher Lane, Joshua Lane, Keith Dockery, and Keith Phillips will serve as pallbearers.
