Mary Cathleen Bowen, 79, Duffield, VA passed away, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Mary was born in Scott County, VA on January 13, 1934 to the late Corbett and Vergie Shortt Bowen.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Hurley and Lester Bowen;half brother, Paul Wallen, and brother-in-law, Charles G. Griffin preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sisters, Thelma Jean Bowen, Duffield, VA and Doris Ann Griffin, Gate City, VA; nephew, Charles Griffin and wife, Susan, Ft. Blackmore, VA; and great nephew, Michael S. Griffin, Ft. Blackmore, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Edens officiating. Kaylor's Chapel Singer will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the McKinney Carter Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
