Eva Irene Bowen 78, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Irene was born March 4, 1935 in Scott County, VA to the late Willie Lee and Pinkie Breeding Patrick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Bowen; sister, Lois Blair; brothers, Howard Patrick and Robert Patrick.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Adams and husband, Michael, Weber City, VA; son, Willie Bowen and wife, Judy, Gate City, VA; sister, Lucille McDavid, Weber City, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Tipton, Brittany Adams, Jacob Adams and Sarah Dittie; along with several nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Phillip Free officiating. Gethsemane Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Bobby Blair, Billy Patrick, Ricky Patrick, David Patrick, Randall Blair and Joseph McDavid will serve as pallbearers. Tony Lynn Jennings, Tony Jennings and James Blair will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends and Family are asked to meet at 12:15p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.
