Blanche Marie (Gue) Bowen, 72, Kingsport, TN. entered into rest Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Greystone Health Care in Blountville, Tennessee.
Ms. Bowen was born on May 18, 1946 in Scott County, Virginia to the late James Floyd and Ida Belle (Lane) Kerns. Blanche is preceded in death by her husband Don Charles Bowen; a daughter, Rosie Gibson; a grandson, Ty Gibson; a granddaughter, Tosha Gibson; and 10 siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; daughter, Donna and husband Thomas Hensley, Kingsport, TN; sons, Tony and wife Audra Gibson, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and James Gibson, Bluff City, TN; grandchildren, Christopher, T.K., Shayla, Sasha, and Jimmy; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends, too many to mention.
A visitation will be held of Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Gate City Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. George Gibson officiating.
Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at VA Mountain Home Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN.
Those wishing to follow the family to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Greystone Health Care Center and the staff of Caris Healthcare for their loving care of Mom during her illness.
Additionally, they would like to send blessings to Mom’s roommate and special friend, Ruthie.
