Patty, age 70, of Duffield, VA passed away on February 12, 2020 at Holston Valley Hospital.
I was born July 18, 1949 at home in Purchase to my loving parents, Rev. Rufus and Hazel Hood.
I was a born-again Christian in July 1973 and attended my little church, Red Hill Memorial since July 1959. I loved life and the peace and contentment I felt and being with my family and friends, which I had many.
I was preceded in death by my loving parents, my loving nephew, Richi Gilliam, and many good friends.
Surviving are my loving husband, Robert F. Bledsoe. My two loving daughters, Carrie Ann & Jason Rhoton and Christie Hamm. My loving grandchildren, Robert-Lee, Odessia, Levi, Mily, and Isaac. Three very special sisters, Peggy, Selma, and Sandie and husband Stanley. Three very special brothers, Rufus and Sherry, Garry and Debbie, David and Rhonda. Many special nieces and nephews like my own children. Many great nieces and nephews. Many good friends that I dearly cherished. My baby sister, Sandie, that I had to talk to every day.
My family will receive friends to celebrate my life at Gate City Funeral Home on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. My brothers will conduct my services. Greg Bowman will sing.
Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Mommy and Daddy behind our little church in Pattonsville. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Rhoton, Isaac Rhoton, Robert-Lee Hamm, Levi Hamm, Russ Williams and Nathan Hood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mily Rhoton, Odessia Hamm, Doris Duncan, Roma Baker and Marcy Rhoton.
I request no flowers that will just fade away – but use your money to buy a snack for a child at school that cannot afford one in memory of me.
