Mary Patsy Sandidge Blackwell, 88, Kingsport, TN passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.
Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church where she was a dedicated member of the choir. She retired from Eastman Kodak Company in Kingsport, TN in 1987, after 41 years of service as an Executive Secretary.
Mrs. Blackwell was born in Scott County, VA on October 11, 1927 to the late Fannie Ben Hodges and Harvey W. Sandidge Sr.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Harvey W. Sandidge, Jr, Early C. Sandidge, Billy Joe Sandidge; stepson, Richard B. Blackwell Jr.; nephew, Charles Harvey (Chuck) Sandidge preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Blackwell, Sr., Kingsport, TN; adopted son, Mark R. Bishop, Kingsport, TN; stepson, Robert M. Blackwell, Sr. and wife Marilyn, Churchville, PA; stepdaughter, Patricia H. Reeser and husband John, Hatfield, PA; six step-grandchildren, Matthew R. Bishop, Kingsport, TN and Leah Elizabeth Bishop Bilweis, Knoxville, TN, Robert M. Blackwell, Jr., Churchville, PA, Victoria Elizabeth Reeser, Laura Emily Reeser, and John D Reeser II, Hatfield, PA; sister in law, Helen F. Sandidge, Gate City, VA; nieces and nephews, Jane Ann Sandidge, Gate City, VA, Cathy L. Sandidge, Gate City, VA, Marsha Sims, Locust Grove, GA, Russell Sandidge, Palm Bay, FL, Dennis Sandidge, Oviedo, FL, Carolyn Sandidge, Palm Bay, FL; special great niece, Sarah Elizabeth Sandidge, Kingsport, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Cassie Bishop.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Gordan McBride and Rev. Grady Clarince Winnegar officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
