Brenda Gail Blackwell, 64, Weber City, VA passed away, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Brenda was born in Mullins, WV on September 7, 1949 to the late William Paul and Monzella Marie Heath McKinney. She was Assistant to the Director of the Kingsport YMCA.

In addition to her parents, her step-son, David Blackwell and sister, Paula Sue Warren preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel F. Blackwell, Weber City, VA; daughter, Karen L. Fitzpatrick and husband, David, Kingsport, TN; sons, Michael Pauley, Kingsport, TN and David Pauley, Kingsport, TN; step sons, Sam Blackwell and wife, Kristen, Kittery, Maine and James Blackwell and wife, Ruth, Roan Mountain, TN; grandchildren, Mackenzie Marie Pauley, Samuel Weston Pauley, and Chelsea Theriault; sister, Linda Shaw and husband, John, Atlanta, GA; brothers, Paul McKinney, Jr. and wife, Norma, Princeton, WV and Jack McKinney and wife, Nancy, Raleigh, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Minister Clint Andrews officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Fincastle Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
