Lucille Carter Bishop – Rye Cove, VA
Lucille Bishop, 93, Rye Cove, VA went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Asbury Place, Kingsport, TN.
Ms. Bishop was born in Scott County, VA on May 15, 1922 to the late James Henry and Rebecca Elizabeth McDavid Carter.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Ellen, Maude, Ruth, Edna; brothers, Bill Carter, Eugene Carter, James Carter preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons Gary Bishop and wife Louisa, Bill Lane and wife Bobbie, Kingsport, TN; grandsons, Tim Bishop and Beckey, Billy Lane and Andrea; step grandsons, Brad and John Puckett; great grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Bishop; Darla , Billy, Michelle, Tucker; great-great grandchildren, Andrew and Nate; along with several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Paul Black and Staff, and All Rehabilitation Centers and Home Health Care Centers that attended to Ms. Bishop over the last several years of her life, also thanks to Barbara, Billy and Chris Egan
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rev. Ray Dockery and Rev. Mike Ervin officiating. Music will be provided by Rye Cove Methodist Church Choir.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Rev. Fred Gillenwater officiating. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers with Kevin Mitchell and Jack Gilliam serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 to go in procession to the graveside.
