Beverly Jolene Carter, Johnson City

Beverly Jolene Carter, Johnson City, TN, passed away, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Jolene was born on March 21, 1931, and lived the majority of her years in Scott County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Hampton and Eliza (Lyon) Lane.

She was a loving wife, and mother. She enjoyed caring for her various lifelong pets and socializing with her numerous friends on Facebook. She will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, her husband, James Frank Carter; sisters, Clara May Lane Young, Anna Belle “Ann” Lane Barnett, Catherine Lane Williams, Cora Lane Blevins, and Maudella Lane; and brothers, PFC Carl Becham Lane and Edgar Kermit Lane preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Carter Lee and partner Michael Quiggle; sons, James Larry Carter and wife, Loretta, and Tim Alan Carter and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Trevin Quillin, Dustin Carter, Bryan Carter, and Benjamin Carter, several step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service.
