Minnie Lane Benton – Gate City, VA
Minnie Lane Benton, age 84 of Gate city, VA moved peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her residence, Sunday, April 17, 2016.
Mrs. Benton was born in Scott County, VA on October 21, 1931 to the late Grover and Ethel Carter Lane. She was of the Christian faith and attended Lawson Memorial Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Marvin Benton; sisters, Dorothy Tipton and Lucille Smith, along with brother, Earl Lane preceded her in death.
Shee is survived by daughter, Tina Lynn Howington and husband, Chris, Gate City, VA; sons, Tim Benton, Gate City, VA and Brent Benton and wife, Becky, Walls, MS; grandchildren, Wesley Howington, Tyler, Creed, Chase and Landon Benton; step granddaughter, Brittany Phelps; great grandchildren, Kailynn Howington, Kinnlee Sturgil and Kolston Howington; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Graveside will be conducted at11:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family and Friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
