William Ray "Tater" Begley – Dungannon, VA
Mr. William Ray "Tater" Begley, 72, Dungannon, VA passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his residence in Dungannon, VA.
Mr. Begley was born in Scott County, VA on February 29, 1940 to the late Bob and Sally Sluss Begley.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Dee Begley and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Begley, Dungannon, VA; son, Mark Begley and wife, Kim, IN; daughter, Melody Fisher, IN; step sons, Sam Babb, VA and Teddy Sparkman, VA; step daughter, Regina Bailey, IN; special grandson, Joshua Babb; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Shaw and husband, Lawrence and Arnie Bear; brother, Ralph Begley; mother-in-law, Norma Gardner; father-in-law, Hubert Gardner and wife, Sharon; special sister-in-law, Debbie Stapleton; special caregiver and sister-in-law, Sandi Messick; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson officiating. The Begley Family and The Sparkmans will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Mike Begley, Tony Begley, Wayne Begley, Jason Gardner, Mike Norrod, and Larry Brickey will serve as pallbearers. Billy Begley, Ricky Dooley, and Bill Brickey will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family of Mr. Begley wishes to express their sincere thanks to his sister, Arnie Bear for all the trips she made with Ray to the hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
