Ralph Begley, 66, Dungannon, VA passed away September 27, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident.
Ralph was born May 7, 1946 in Scott County, VA, to the late Robert and Sally Sluss Begley. He was a retired coal miner with Westmorland Coal.
He was an Evangelist and attended Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church and Durham's Chapel.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Kathern Lucille Begley; sisters, Pearly Summy, Erma Weatherly, Eslie Begley, Rozella Begley, and Beulah Steele; and brothers, Ray Begley, Elmore Begley, Con Begley, Cecil Begley, and Cag Begley preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Fields and husband, Sam, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sons, Jerry Begley and wife, Kim, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Terry Begley and wife, Kelley, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Paige, Saige, and Mallorie Fields, Cole and Conner Begley, Brooke and Cody Stevens, and Brian and Whitney Austin; sisters, Lillian Shaw and husband, Lawrence, Jonesborough, TN and Arnie Bear, Kingsport, TN; his best friends, Billy Begley, Gene Holder, Tommy Holder, all of Ft. Blackmore, VA and Alice Begley, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The Begley family will receive friends from 5 to 7p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with Rev. Terry Rhoton, Rev. Tommy Holder, and Rev. James Salling officiating. Durham's Chapel Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted on 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2012, in the Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Billy Begley, Mike Begley, and Ricky Dooley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
