Phyllis Loreati Begley, 70, Sweetwater, TN passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Begley was born in Tennessee on March 20, 1943 to the late Elza and Annie Hall Akers.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Claude Akers, and an infant sister, Geniva Faye Akers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Begley, Sweetwater, TN; daughters, Tammy Kirksey, Bellmont, NC and Dawn Hoffman and husband, David, Gastonia, NC; sons, Terry Begley, Sweetwater, TN, Tony Begley and wife, Jo, Bessmer City, NC, and Teddy Begley, Sweetwater, TN; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Norma Jean Moore, Dallas, NC and Wanda Akers, Dallas, NC; brother, Gerald Akers, Dallas, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. James Mann and Rev. Walker Darnell officiating. Toke Hensley will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Carter Cemetery in the Stoney Creek community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
